British Retail Consortium claims food prices up 3.8%

Soaring costs of wheat and sugar have helped push food inflation to its highest rate in over a year. Food prices rose to 3.8% over August – up from 2.5% in July, which had been the highest rate since July last year, according to the latest British Retail Consortium figures.
