Europe's most frequent snackers are youngsters aged between six and 24, a report by Datamonitor has revealed.

The report found that they ate at least two snacks a day - or 825 a year. The European average was 807.

Daniel Bone, author of the report, said: “Snacking is ingrained in UK eating habits. But younger consumers, with their relatively carefree approach to eating, are particularly frequent snackers.”
