The Danish dairy industry has suffered a setback with a single case of BSE in northern Jutland. The 70 strong herd was slaughtered as soon as the diagnosis was made. This has not stopped export customers in the Middle East seeking reassurance that Danish dairy products are safe ­ an assurance readily forthcoming from Copenhagen. The official opening of the roadlink to Sweden this summer has added a fresh impetus to the ongoing dialogue between the Danish and Swedish dairy boards.
