Coors Brewers has promoted its sales MD for the Midlands and south east, Simon Davies, to the role of marketing director and member of the board.
His appointment comes after the announcement that marketing and international development director Mark Hunter is to join Canada’s biggest brewer, Molson, in the newly created role of chief commercial officer.
The move comes after the merger of Molson with Coors Brewers’ US parent company Adolph Coors in February, which formed the Molson Coors Brewing Company. Davies was responsible for the launch of Carling Extra Cold and Reef.
Hunter will be moving to Toronto, where he will be responsible for all brand marketing, media, sports and entertainment and sales activities. Coors said he was a key contributor to the 80% growth in Carling in the past seven years, to build it into the UK’s biggest brand across the on and off-trades with a value of £2bn.
