Neil Burchell, marketing director of Rachel’s Organic, has been promoted to MD of Horizon Organic Dairy, the UK parent company of Rachel’s Organic.

Burchell succeeds Don Gaidano in September when he becomes vice president for international and corporate development for Horizon Organic Dairy’s US wing, Horizon Organic Holding Corporation.

Burchell will be responsible for all UK operations of the US firm, reporting to Gaidano.

Prior to joining Rachel’s Organic, Burchell held a series of senior marketing positions at Thermos and, before that, at Del
Monte. Gaidano said: “Burchell’s experience has already made a big difference to UK operations. We have seen tremendous growth in sales of Rachel’s Organic branded products and an aggressive sales expansion programme is in place. I am confident he will take the company forward to even greater success.”

Gaidano came to the UK in 2000 to head the company’s expansion into Europe, following a significant acquisitions programme in the UK. Since then he has led the development and growth of the Rachel’s Organic brand.
