From January 2001 the publisher of Fortune is to increase its North American print run from 810,00 to 830,000 and its international run from 155,000 to 170,000 to reach an overall worldwide base of one million. US publisher Michael Federie said: "Fortune is growing on all fronts, domestically and internationally, in circulation, news stand sales, ad pages and ad revenue. "This circulation growth represents a 2.5% increase in North America, and a 9.7% increase in international circulation, reflecting the same sort of reader demand that led us to increase in the previous two years." Fortune posted its highest-ever first-half newsstand sales in 2000 representing the magazine's 11th consecutive half of year on year growth. Fortune is the world's best-known business magazine.
