The US internet news magazine the Industry Standard is to launch in the UK on October 19. The magazine will be on sale every Thursday, priced £1.95, and will be distributed by MarketForce. Its target readership is directors and senior management. Publisher of the title, Standard Media International is planning to repeat its US success, which the New York Times described as "outpacing every other weekly magazine in the country". Currently, the Industry Standard achieves sales of more than 150,000 copies, making it probably the most successful business magazine in the US. The UK and continental Europe debut, which is being billed as the most significant launch for a business title in a generation', is designed to establish the Industry Standard as the only weekly publication exclusively devoted to e-commerce news. The Industry Standard's October 19 debut will include a major sampling campaign in the run-up to the on-sale date. The website launch is planned for October 2 and can be found at www.thestandard.com/Europe European chief executive Neil Thackray said that The Industry Standard was the media pioneer that had shaped the future of New Economy reporting. {{CTN }}
