Northern retailer Mills Group is heading for a half century of stores following a number of recent purchases. The latest addition to the chain, a large CTN in Ollerton, Mansfield, gives the group a combined total of 46 outlets throughout the East Midlands, Cumbria and the north east. And Mills is still on the acquisition trail. MD Nigel Mills said: "We have obtained an off-licence for the business and are currently converting it into a c-store which should begin trading at the end of August. "We hope to acquire up to 16 c-stores over the next three years." Mills began life as a traditional newsagent but gradually broadened into convenience retailing as the newspaper market became increasingly competitive after deregulation. {{NEWS }}
