French retailer Carrefour has revealed a 13% rise in third quarter like-for-like sales to E391m at its operations in Argentina. Supermarket and hypermarket like-for-like sales were up 18.1% and 8.1% respectively.

Carrefour’s Columbia operations recorded a 22% increase in sales for the period to E159m, and the retailer said that it would build at least five new hypermarkets and improve its supply chain in the country next year.

However, like-for-like sales at Carrefour’s Brazilian operations fell by 1.5% for the period. Hypermarket like-for-like sales were down 1.4%.
