Sir; David Orpwood raises an important point in his letter about the Food Chain Centre's remit ( Centre must fight for British food', The Grocer, May 25). He can rest assured that the centre will dedicate its activities to British farming and food. We are focused on the vision of a sustainable and profitable food sector in this country. However, the centre is one element of a strategy as set out in the Curry Commission report, and we will work in partnership with many other organisations. Our role is to help the chain run as smoothly and efficiently as possible via trust, collaboration and the sharing of information.
