Sir; re Disgruntled's views about checkout rudeness (Letters, January 6). My wife and I agree wholeheartedly. Most checkout operators have had very poor training or they just can't be bothered. When was the last time your change was counted into the palm of your hand? It may seem a trivial thing but it is an important part of good service. Just the other week we were literally thrown through the checkout as the operator had a "taxi to catch". So come on, bosses, sort this out or lose customers. Bill Badger (by e-mail) {{LETTERS }}
