SA easy peelers on the way Quantities of South African clementines will build up next week with the first vessel due in, reports Martin Dunnett, UK manager of Capespan International. "Some 5,000 cartons arrived earlier and in the main have been sent out as samples to multiples," said Dunnett. "We anticipate selling some 450,000 cartons out of a European total of 650,000 cartons." Clementines are scheduled for around a month later, with a promise of large fruit sizes. Dunnett says overall European volumes will be up, with Capespan programming 1.7 million cartons compared with 1.4 million last season.
