There could be a shortage of cocoa within the next five to ten years, chocolate manufacturer Barry Callebaut has warned.

Speaking to FT Deutschland, Patrick de Maeseniere, chief executive of Barry Callebaut, said: “If the consumption of chocolate in the Asian markets continues to boom, then demand could outstrip supply in the next five to ten years.”
