The Commons Select Committee on environment, food and rural affairs is setting up an inquiry into the implications of the government’s agreement for limited cultivation of GM maize in the UK.
The inquiry will consider how liability will be established in the event of cross-contamination, the separation differences needed to avoid contamination, how local GM-free zones could be set up and how the licensing regime would work.
