n The consumption of eggs is virtually static versus last year
n The 45+ age group accounts for 53.8% of all eggs consumed
n Consumption of eggs shows a slight female bias, with adult women accounting for 43.9% vs 42.2% for adult men
n Kids account for 14% of consumption
n Men 25-34 are showing the greatest levels of growth, +8.3% vs last year. This group accounts for 5.7% of consumption
n The groups showing the greatest decline in consumption vs last year are children 0-5 and men 35-44, down 8.6% and 7.2% respectively
n The core occasion for the consumption of eggs is breakfast with 37% of eggs consumed at this occasion
n The most popular days for consumption are Saturday and Sunday, which together account for 36.5% of all eggs consumed
n In-home snack consumption is showing a decline, down 10%. But this occasion accounts for only 2.4% of consumption
n Eggs are mainly consumed with toast, bacon, tomatoes, sausages, baked beans and fruit
