When yellow fats are consumed

n In the last year, there were 17.3 billion individual yellow fat meal occasions
n Consumption of yellow fats has decreased marginally since last year (2%)
n Adults aged 45-64 account for just over a quarter of all yellow fat consumption
n Children aged 6-10 and males 25-34 are showing the best levels of growth (4% and 3% respectively)
n Adults 17-24 are driving the overall decline in consumption, with an overall decline of 11%
n The core occasion for the consumption of yellow fats is the breakfast (33%) yet this has decreased by 2.5% since last year
n Yellow fats are consumed at a standard rate throughout the week (14-15% each day). This reflects their role as a core complementary product
n Consumption levels peak at core meal occasions: breakfast, 7am-9am (23%) and lunch, noon-2pm (24%)
n 92% of yellow fats are eaten with bread, 18% with cheese and 11% with ham
