Mike Cook has left his job as general manager of Foodfinders food brokers to become general manager of importer RH Amar's newly created speciality foods division. Cook, 58, has worked in the speciality food sector for most of his life. He has been a board member of the Delicatessen and Fine Foods Association and is on the board of the Guild of Fine Food Retailers. Before working at Foodfinders he worked for deli importer Rabinski & Co.
RH Amar chief executive David Mellor said: "For almost six decades, RH Amar has built its business by finding speciality foods and bringing them to the UK consumer. Many of our leading brands of speciality foods are now mainstream grocery items.
"However, the search for high quality niche products never ends and our speciality foods division will enable us to create new trends. Cook has an unrivalled knowledge of the speciality food business."
