A man dressed in a bright blue cuckoo suit crashes through a library screeching, “Wakey, wakey!” at an unsuspecting public before picking a fight with a librarian in AG Barr’s subversive TV advert for its Irn-Bru 32 energy drink.
The £2.5m ad campaign, which hits Scottish screens this week and breaks in England on Monday (March 13), is part of a “pure mental stimulation” theme backing the newcomer to the 100 year-old brand. The ad will run until mid May in England and June in Scotland. A poster campaign and press ads will add support.
