DBC Foodservice enjoyed record sales over the Christmas trading period.

Foodservice sales grew 39% year-on-year, with sales to independents up 26% and national contracts up 44% [4w/e 1 January], claimed DBC. Sales of the recently revamped frozen range were up 56% in the same period.

"We are pleased to report this impressive performance in what has been a tough competitive environment," said MD Chris Horne.

DBC has the benefit of Iceland's buying power after it was bought last year by three Iceland bosses, including CEO Malcolm Walker.
