The UK’s biggest integrated dairy co-operative, Dairy Farmers of Britain, has reported a pre-tax profit of £10.3m for the first six months of the financial year, up 47% on the previous year.
It also increased its turnover by 22% to £265m.
DFB became the third-biggest dairy processor in the UK and market leader in dairy ingredients manufacturing with the acquisition of Associated Co-operative Creameries for £78.8m
Chief executive Malcolm Smith said: “We need to improve efficiency and drive innovation, while tackling the full integration of our food production businesses.”
