Diageo and Moët Hennessy have agreed a new joint distribution deal in five key states in the US. Under the deal, Diageo and Schieffelin & Somerset ­ a joint venture between Diageo and Moët-Hennessy ­ will consolidate all their brands such as Smirnoff vodka and Moët et Chandon champagne, within a single distributor in each of the states. In the US, alcohol companies are barred from owning distributors and retailers. Peerless Importers and its affiliate Colony Liquors and Wine Distributors are the preferred distributor in New York State, and Southern Wine & Spirits of America is the preferred distributor in Florida, California, Hawaii and Kentucky Diageo said the five states represent 30% of the volume for the distilled spirits industry in the US. {{NEWS }}
