London based home delivery company The Food Ferry has signed a deal with a US diet plan firm to help Londoners lose weight. The Food Ferry has teamed up with Perfectly Balanced Food Co to offer a seven day meal plan along Zone Diet guidelines and the groceries needed to comply with it. The Food Ferry will also supply ZonePerfect branded products imported from the US. The Zone Diet involves a balance of protein, fat and carbohydrate. Chief executive James Millar is also looking at setting up a mail order service to boost market share and developing more buy with one hit' boxes of groceries after the success of St Valentine's boxes. However, he admitted things had become tougher over the last 12 months as the multiples stepped up their online shopping activities and the London home delivery market became increasingly overcrowded. Full-year turnover is expected to be about £2.2m. Delivery charges range from £2 for delivery in five hours and £6.50 for delivery within the hour. Sticking to 3,000 lines ensures 98% product availability. {{NEWS }}
