Launched to recognise business excellence in the industry, the awards comprise eight categories of which four are open to entries. The other four will be decided on the basis of exclusive research carried out for The Grocer.
Of the self-entry categories, Best Independent Retail Chain 2003 is open to companies featuring in The Grocer Top 50 ranking. The judging panel is drawn from impartial experts from outside the food and drink industry who will be looking for evidence of sales growth, implementation of strategy, innovation and staff development.
The Best Own Label Range category is open to retailers or wholesalers, while the Marketing Excellence and Best Initiative awards are open to supermarket multiples, symbol groups, independent retail chains and wholesalers.
The awards will be presented at an exclusive business dinner at Claridge’s on June 11.
