The number of wholesaler double runs for national newspapers has fallen significantly since the ANMW began monitoring figures more than a year ago. In September 27,132 vans were rerun for daily titles  half the total for September 1999 when monitoring began. Furthermore the September 2000 total was the second lowest for the year. The Mirror was responsible for 695 vans being rerun in September  halving its figure for the previous month and showing a big improvement on the 3,274 in September 1999. The Independent cut its double runs from 4,673 in September 1999 to 703 in September 2000. The Financial Times and Daily Telegraph caused the most double runs in September, according to the latest figures, at 1,547 and 1,107 respectively. {{CTN }}
