WHSmith News started distributing the London Evening Standard on Monday, after winning a contract for the wholesale distribution of the title. Over the past 12 months, WHSmith News has been developing a regional press offer, and was keen to obtain a contract for the wholesale distribution of an evening newspaper. Earlier this year, the London Evening Standard confirmed it intended to move a significant number of daily copies away from its own distribution services and into news wholesale. WHSmith News claims to have secured a large proportion of this sale. WHSmith will handle three of the five daily editions of the Evening Standard - News Extra, Late Prices Extra, and in selected areas, the West End Final as well as the newspaper1s weekly supplements. WHS has organised a dedicated team to manage the distribution of the Evening Standard and deliveries will be made from 10 distribution areas within the SouthEast. {{CTN }}
