The Food Doctor will launch its first dairy-free chocolate bar later this year with further confectionery lines waiting in the pipeline.
Although Ian Marber, the company founder, said that he did not want the range to go down the 'free from' route, it was essential to create a healthier chocolate range.
The product, which is still in development, is artificially sweetened and will be followed by extensions, such as chocolates containing seeds or nuts.In addition, the company launched two oils, Triple A and Berry Seed, which are made from avocado, almond and argan, and a selection of fruit seeds. Its new Omega Butter, Omega Shaker and Omega Mix were also showcased for the first time at the show.
The chocolate range is yet to be listed, but The Food Doctor's other lines are sold in all the multiples except Asda.
Marber said the brand, which was first launched in 1999, was currently really picking up pace, boosted by his column in The Daily Telegraph and his television spot as a food expert on C4's Richard & Judy.
