The grocery industry and indeed The Grocer has its fair share of party animals in its midst and we would like as many of you as possible to join us as we prove this at the annual Caravan Diamond Ball taking place on 2 March.

This event is of course a party with a serious purpose. The Grocer remains a proud supporter of Caravan, the industry's welfare charity, which looks after former colleagues who have fallen on hard times through no fault of their own.

The Diamond Ball, which takes place in The Great Room in London's Grosvenor House Hotel, is a great opportunity to support this really worthwhile cause.

The evening will commence with a Champagne reception and is followed by a splendid four-course meal.

The highlight of the occasion, however, is likely to be a turn from legendary soul singer Alexander O'Neal.

O'Neal achieved worldwide success with many chart topping hits including Criticize, If You Were Here Tonight and Saturday Love.

The bill will also include Gilev, a 13-piece band that promises to deliver an energetic show, which includes an array of carefully selected music to appeal to every taste.

Tickets for this black tie evening event are still available and anyone wishing to attend or support Caravan in any way should call 01252 875925 or visit www.caravan-charity.org.uk
