Responsible drinking campaigner The Portman Group is encouraging people to use its drink diary to see how many units and calories they are drinking in a typical week.
This follows its findings that a third of women claim to have been sexually assaulted after drinking too much.
The group’s chief executive, Jean Coussins, said: “Alcohol affects your judgement and the fact so many young women are being sexually assaulted after getting drunk is shocking.
“We hope that the drinks diary may be the trigger needed to make young women think about what could happen to them if they drink too much.”
The diary can be obtained free from the group or online at www.drinkaware.co.uk.
