Interbrew and AmBev have completed a deal to combine the two companies to create InBev, which is claimed to be the world’s biggest brewer by volume.

AmBev claims to be the world’s fifth largest brewer and the market leader across most of Latin America. Interbrew says it is the world’s third largest brewer with sales in 140 countries.

The new company will focus its activities on three global flagship brands, Stella Artois, Becks and Brahma.

InBev achieved, on a 2003 consolidated pro forma basis, a net turnover of E9,287m.
