He will be responsible for the overall market strategy for the RSPCA-run scheme, developing new business and extending the use of the label by retailers.
He will seek to sustain the profile of the label in the wake of its retail advertising campaign for free range and barn eggs earlier this year.
Tait was previously sales and marketing director at plastic card manufacturer Mids & Horsey. Prior to that he held senior sales and marketing roles at several fmcg companies including Cadbury Trebor Bassett and Merrydown Cider.
He reports directly to chief executive Leigh Grant.
