US manufacturers Pillsbury, General Mills, Land O' Lakes and Fort James have teamed up with a packaging company Graphic Packaging Corp to form an internet based freight and logistics exchange. General Mills' senior vice president of supply chain Randy Darcy said the alliance would be up and running by the summer, but would not reveal how much had been invested by the partners. "We expect this new logistics exchange to dramatically improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our distribution.
