Tavistock grocery store - N H Creber, The Quality Grocer - has been put up for sale and signals the end of an era for the family-owned store in Devon.

The business has been run by the Creber family since 1881 and is one of the oldest businesses of its type in the South West. Over the years the store had expanded with a full and interesting range of goods, as had its reputation for quality and value.

Estate agent Paul Heather, from Christie & Co’s Exeter office, said the leasehold business was on the market for £100,000, due to the retirement of current proprietor Doreen Creber.
