The Scottish red meat industry contributes around £3.5bn a year to the Scottish economy, a study has revealed.
The report, by Professor Chris Doyle and commissioned by Quality Meat Scotland, also revealed around 40,000 people are dependent on the red meat sector for employment.
QMS chairman Jim Walker said: "This report confirms the real significance of the red meat industry. For too long it has been one of Scotland's unsung success stories."
