Responsible drinking charity The Drinkaware Trust is on the lookout for a new chief executive following the surprise departure of Jean Collingwood after less than a year.
The organisation had "no comment to make on specific staff moves", said a spokesman.
Derek Lewis, chairman of the board of trustees, will be acting chief executive until a new appointment is made.
Collingwood joined as the first permanent chief executive of the organisation last July. She was previously chief executive of Great British Wheelchair Rugby as well as CEO of the Ingenious Group, a social marketing consultancy.
