Halewood International hopes to steal a share of the £1bn whisky category by positioning its new Irish blend as a value for money brand.
The Ballydoyle has a 20% malt content and is distilled and matured in oak barrels by Cooleys distillery in County Louth.
It will retail between £11.49 and £11.99 per 70cl bottle. Inspired by the Irish passion for horseracing, the bottle features a racehorse on the label. Richard Clark, marketing controller for Halewood International, said: “The Ballydoyle is a fine Irish whiskey and will sit well within the growing whisky category and will also complement our existing whisky brands.”
