Namibian Breweries posted a 30% jump in annual sales boosted by exports to South Africa and Angola.

For the year ended January 31 turnover rose to N$879m from N$677m last year while pre-tax profit climbed to N$59,8m from N$54.5m the previous year.

NB said the new partnership with Dutch brewer Heineken and UK drinks group Diageo would strengthen its presence and market share in the premium market segment in Southern Africa.

Last year, Interbrew sold its 29% stake in Namibian Breweries - the sole brewer in the country - to Diageo and Heineken for 31m euros.
