The new president of the Food & Drink Federation has vowed to champion the sector’s “positive contribution” to society.
Jim Moseley, the UK managing director of General Mills, said he would highlight the “fantastic careers on offer, our efforts to reduce our environmental impact, the safety and quality of the products we make [and] our world-leading work to help people lead healthier lives”.
Moseley became FDF president on 1 January after four years as vice and deputy president of the body, replacing Ross Warburton. Moseley has also chaired the federation’s Food Safety & Scientific Steering Group.
Meanwhile, new chairmen have also been appointed to three of the FDF’s main steering groups. Paul Grimwood, chairman of Nestle UK & Ireland, will lead the Competitiveness Steering Group. Kraft UK supremo Nick Bunker is to head the Sustainability Steering Group and Martin Douglas, general manager of Cargill, takes over the Food Safety & Science Steering Group previously headed by Moseley.
