Militant group Farmers For Action intends to blockade supermarket distribution centres in England and Wales in protest against the big five supermarket chains over prices paid for dairy products.

FFA leader David Handley led 25 farmers at protests at Asda and Tesco centres at Chepstow, near the Severn Bridge, south east Wales. And there are plans to for similar action in England, at Bristol, Kent, Southampton, Cheshire and Yorkshire.

Handley told the BBC: “We have been patient and sat back but nothing has happened.

"We had hoped we would not have to do this but it looks like we will have to get militant. We will stay there until someone from the supermarkets come out and talk sensibly."
