Cake manufacturer Finsbury Food Group has reported strong sales growth for the 32 weeks to June 2007.

Sales were up 10%, 17% and 28% in its Memory Lane Cakes, Nicholas and Harris and combined California Cakes and Campbells Cakes businesses respectively, the group said in a trading update, while United Central Bakeries, which was severely damaged by fire in October last year, was close to returning to full production.

“Our core markets are all experiencing growth and I am excited about the ideas and opportunities that are being generated,” said Finsbury Food Group CEO Dave Brooks.
