Fishmonger and restaurant chain FishWorks is to continue its expansion drive, aiming to have 19 stores by summer 2008.

Executive chairman Roy Morris said the chain, which has 12 sites in London, Somerset and Dorset, was aiming to open a further three sites by next July and another four by July 2008.

It has opened two London sites -in Notting Hill and Chelsea - since July. "They are great locations for us," said Morris.

The search for new sites would focus on greater London, but other "appropriate" locations would also be considered.

Last month FishWorks reported a pre-tax loss of £519,000 in the year to 30 July, on sales up 85% at £7.62m. Like-for-like sales were up 4.6% on the previous year.

Morris blamed the company's losses on the closure of its concession at Harvey Nichols' Knightsbridge store in London in July. But despite this, Morris said FishWorks had not been put off pursuing similar opportunities in the future. ?
