Northern Irish supermarket Curley's has staged its first food festival - and is already planning its next.

The retailer held its West Belfast Taste Fest last week at the Kennedy Shopping Centre, Belfast, with 47 of its Northern Irish and Irish suppliers turning up to show off their wares. The day included cookery demonstrations and the opportunity for shoppers to try the food.

Hugh Kennedy, owner of Curley's, said: "It was a great success for suppliers and customers who sipped and nibbled their way through many world-famous Irish brands that shared a common theme - they were all made in Ireland, grown in Ireland or reared in Ireland."
