Nick Brown has been told by leading multiple executives and senior supplier figures to maintain his existing strategies to eradicate FMD  without recourse to vaccination. That, The Grocer understands, was their message to the agriculture minister at a private meeting at MAFF this week. In addition to the multiples, the session was attended by representatives of the Food and Drink Federation, the Dairy Industry Federation, the British Meat Manufacturers' Association and the Provision Trade Federation. The retailers were opposed to any scheme which would force them to differentiate between two classes of product  from vaccinated and unvaccinated animals. However, they argued that if vaccination were seen as a last resort option, the vaccinated animals should be culled rather than allowed to remain in the food chain. {{NEWS }}
