Even passionate scullers, when they reach 70, may not fancy doing the London Marathon.
And you'd think people who reach that ripe age would be far happier sitting in a cosy armchair. But not John Brown, former chairman of the Provision Trade Federation and one-time director of Dairy Crest. He's planning to run the race to raise money for the Provision Trade Charity.
What's more this year will be the third time Brown has participated in the event.
Seems an extreme way of getting about the capital. True, London can get a bit congested at times, but surely Brown can get a concessionary bus pass?
