Frozen Value is trialling a brokerage service for other retailers, following plans outlined a year ago.
The Grocer Top 50 retailer began exploring the service to help retailers source products at competitive prices after shifting distribution to a 70,000 sq ft depot off junction 38 of the M1.
Kevin Gunter, director of Frozen Value, said: "I wouldn't put a time frame on the trial. We have offered this service to other retailers and the response has been encouraging."
Gunter added that the company was involved in deals which would hopefully enable it to add nine stores to its estate by the end of this year. He also said the company had refitted 12 stores so far this year.
Gunter said the new depot had opened up opportunities for Frozen Value to grow its estate and expand its business, as expected. "We are delighted about the further opportunities and options the warehouse has given the business. We are a year into the move and we are very pleased with it."
