Fyffes reported a 44.2% increase in profit before tax for the six months ending June 30, compared to the same period last year.
The company’s first half results showed a net profit of £60.6m, compared to £42m in June 2003, with a turnover of £1.043m, compared to £1.001m last year.
Commenting on the results, Fyffes chairman Carl McCann said: “The group has delivered strong results in the first six months of the year. Fyffes’ produce business performed very well during the period, achieving an impressive 15% increase in trading profits.
“On addition, the group’s property business generated profits of over £14m.”
