Fresh produce distributor, Fyffes, will invest €22m in new properties to accommodate the continuing development of its produce activities, the group has said.

In a trading statement released to the City this morning, Fyffes said that the properties would be in a number of locations across Europe, with the largest in Edinburgh.

Fyffes added that as a result of “favourable market conditions” it had experienced a “very positive” start to the year.

The group increased its adjusted earnings per share for the full year 2005 to the mid-teens in percentage terms, ahead of market expectation.
