Fresh prepared food specialist Geest has bought a 30-acre manufacturing site in Lincoln from collapsed own label chilled foods supplier Tinsley Foods. Tinsley closed at the end of September after receivers KPMG failed to find a buyer prepared to take the business on as a going concern. Finance director Mark Pullen said Geest had not bought the site with a clear idea of what it would be used for and was unlikely to open it for at least 15 months. "The site is very high quality and significantly cheaper for us than starting from scratch." Geest is investing over £70m this year on capital projects and this week launches a major new product range with a multiple, which it claims will create a "brand new fresh prepared food category". {{NEWS }}
