Confectionery company Glisten has completed the first of several planned acquisitions with the purchase of branded and own label chocolates manufacturer Sunya for £1.08m.

The company - which has been sold by Renshaw Scott - makes foiled and netted chocolate balls and seasonal products.

In the year ended June 30 2003, it posted operating profit of £220,000 on sales of £1.8m.

Jeremy Hamer, non-executive chairman of Glisten, said: “Sunya will provide cross-selling opportunities as most of its capabilities are new to Glisten.”
