Italian dairy chain Granarolo has confirmed that it is interested in making a bid for troubled Italian dairy giant Parmalat.

Other potential bidders for Parmalat, which is expected to relist on the stock exchange tomorrow, include French dairy Lactalis, while Nestlé has denied reports that it is planning to build a stake in the company.

Meanwhile, Parmalat is claiming damages of €7.1bn from investment bank Credit Suisse First Boston. It claims that the investment bank contributed to the group’s collapse in 2003. CSFB said it would contest the allegations.
