Greggs has sealed a deal to open shops in motorway service stations.
The high street baker’s agreement with Moto Hospitality paves the way for the first of two trial shops to open on the M6 in December, near Lymm in Cheshire.
The trial will run for a year, with up to 30 further stores being added to the Moto network if the pilot is successful.
“Moto is an excellent operator and I hope this will be the beginning of a long and successful relationship,” said Greggs chief executive Ken McMeikan.
A spokeswoman for Greggs confirmed that details of pricing were still being worked out, but admitted it was usual for motorway service stations to charge slightly more than the high street for food and drink.
